Digital Book – Draft Review

On the last day we gathered in small groups to review our books with one another, and was great to see how people had gone about different ideas for their designs and what elements they had included that made it stand out from others.

Journey One

My personal favourite from the group was Suzanne’s who had retold the story of “The Stubborn Princess” with a twist; she made the story look like a children’s book but was aimed more at an adult audience, and delivered a book that would be perfectly acceptable for children with an explicitly darker story than you would be aimed more to the audience of adults. She also went further by adding surprise elements in the pages that you clicked on to add more to the story, though these needed some more development so that it could stand out a bit more as they were hard to notice as interactive elements.

Journey Two

My book also received praise for the design elements, though was informed that the paragraph style and format should be redesigned to give a more pleasurable reading experience; the difference from the front cover and inside of the book also caused a few uncertain reactions, so I will be linking the colours between the pages so that they flow in a more refined way.
